Web Summit 2025: Founder with Two Missions

It’s an incredible honor to announce that I’ve been invited to attend Web Summit Vancouver 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious technology conferences  not only as a media creator, but also as the founder of SkinScope AI, selected to join the exclusive ALPHA program for high-potential startups. This dual participation is more than just an opportunity  it’s a reflection of the journey I’ve been on as an entrepreneur, a passionate content creator, and someone driven by purpose, technology, and social impact.

Representing Media with Purpose

With a following of over a million across platforms, I’ve always viewed media as a powerful tool, not just for influence, but for education, connection, and visibility. At Web Summit Vancouver, I’ll be on the ground as part of the official media network, covering major keynote speeches, emerging tech trends, and interviewing founders, investors, and thought leaders from around the world.

But my focus is more than just hype. I aim to bring stories that often go unheard, stories of refugee entrepreneurs, underrepresented founders, and startups solving real human problems. I’ll be sharing live coverage and content that opens up this world-class summit to people around the world, especially aspiring innovators who feel distant from opportunities like these.

SkinScope AI Joins the ALPHA Program

What makes this even more meaningful is that my startup, SkinScope AI, will be exhibiting at Web Summit through the ALPHA program, a platform that showcases the most promising early-stage companies with the potential to change the world.

SkinScope AI is an AI-powered skincare analysis platform that allows users to scan their skin using a photo and receive insights, personalized product recommendations, and alerts if medical consultation might be needed. It’s a blend of beauty tech, health tech, and social impact, designed to make skincare more inclusive, accessible, and intelligent.

Our mission began with a simple observation: while beauty and wellness are booming industries, millions around the world lack access to basic skin health support. Whether due to geography, income, or language barriers, countless individuals are left behind. With SkinScope AI, we’re creating a bridge, offering smart, affordable, and instant skincare insights using AI, with a focus on diversity, real-world accuracy, and cultural inclusion.

Being selected to join ALPHA validates this vision. It puts us in front of global investors, accelerators, policymakers, and fellow founders who believe that tech should do more than impress, it should heal, connect, and empower.

From Syria to the Global Stage

As someone who comes from Syria, a country more known in headlines for conflict than for innovation, this moment feels deeply symbolic. I’ve spent the past decade working in community development, education, and entrepreneurship, trying to build platforms that give people a voice, a skill, or a second chance.

Now, standing at Web Summit, I carry with me not just a product or a camera, but the stories of thousands of young Syrians who dream of building something meaningful, despite the odds. I’m here because of them, and for them.

Looking Ahead: A Call to Collaborate

Web Summit Vancouver 2025 will be a launchpad, for conversations, collaborations, and new opportunities. Whether you’re a journalist, investor, fellow founder, or someone passionate about tech for good, I’d love to connect.

I’ll be documenting my full experience through videos, interviews, and blog reflections right here on my website, and across my social media channels. If you’re attending the summit, let’s meet. If you’re not, follow along, because I’m committed to bringing you behind the scenes, with honesty and depth. Together, we can build tech that matters, not just to markets, but to people.
